Intranet-based training offers businesses multiple tangible benefits, however training departments also face considerable challenges when producing interactive content for the web. This paper will provide a comprehensive look at the characteristics of the Intranet as a training device, as well as a detailed account of a large multinational computer corporation that is in the process of implementing such a system. The benefits and cost savings of deploying Intranet-based training will be explored, as well as the challenges and issues faced by large corporations when migrating from existing delivery methods to an Intranet-based delivery strategy. Suggestions are made to optimize development for this medium.
