Abstract

As multimedia teaching technology becomes more widely advocated and employed in education, it has opened new ways of learning and has brought several advantages to computer-aided education. Also, governments are investing huge amounts of money in instructional technology because they believe that multimedia teaching and learning can improve teachers’ teaching quality and students’ learning achievement. However, the characteristics of technology, such as asynchronous teaching and learning, global learning, and so on, may change teachers’ teaching styles and students’ learning styles. Not all teachers would like to use technology to teach because teachers have to learn new techniques and to design new instructional plans. Therefore, this report reviews several studies and tries to investigate what variables make teachers accept technological innovations and how this technology affects teachers’ and students’ roles.
