Abstract

Students entering the field of instruction systems design (ISD) may find growing opportunities to join with a company?s training department to develop web based training (WBT) modules. The demand for instructional designers that can merge training programs with interactive multimedia is strong and is expected to increase as the role of WBT in corporate training expands. This report will explore the experience of a team of graduate student interns as they developed two computer based training (CBT) modules for a large company in the American southwest. The purpose of this report is to give an account of our internship experience and to illuminate the possibilities that exist for students of instructional technology in the support of training programs at large companies.
